The Story Behind Our Plus Size Bridal Shop
Every great love story begins with a moment—and so did ours. When I first opened my bridal shop in 2003, I was committed to helping all brides find the perfect gown. But over time, I noticed something deeply troubling: too many brides struggled to find wedding dresses in their size, especially those who wear sizes outside the traditional range. This realization changed everything.
I knew it was time to do something meaningful. That’s why I transformed my boutique into a plus size bridal shop where every bride feels seen, celebrated, and confident. My mission has always been simple: to provide stunning elegant plus size wedding dresses that flatter every curve but more importantly to give all my plus size brides the fun experience and choice that they deserve!
From classic silhouettes to modern styles, my collection of plus size wedding dresses, Bellucci Bride, is thoughtfully designed to ensure no bride has to settle. I’ve created a private space where you can try on gowns without compromise, surrounded by support, encouragement, and an unwavering belief that every bride deserves her dream dress.

My name is Beverley and I started The Bridal Suite in 2003 after having a nightmare trying to find my wedding dress. I was so excited to be getting married but some how the experience I had in so many shops was really quite disappointing. I was not a size 10 and yet I was made to squeeze into dresses that were way too small. This inevitably left me feeling bad about myself and my figure.
In 2016 I decided to take the bold decision to sell off any dresses that were below a size 18 and replace them with plus size wedding dresses. I realised that Curvy brides wanted and deserved to have the same wide selection and experience that smaller sized brides enjoy.
I have never looked back! Helping plus size brides find the dress of their dreams gives me so much pleasure. I love the moment when a bride transforms from being nervous and insecure and emerges from the fitting room with a beaming smile and a fabulous supported shapely figure. She is suddenly proud of her feminine curves and then tells me how much she has been dreading looking for a wedding dress. The brides comfort and happiness is my main goal. What was suppose to be a nightmare is all of a sudden great fun and that is what its all about for me.
All our plus size wedding dresses are specifically cut to accommodate your curves whether it be a fuller bust, big hips or a broad back we will have the perfect dress. Our sample wedding gowns are all sized 18-36 and whatever your height or body shape there will be one to suit you. Our samples will fit!
The bad experiences I hear about all the time such as being told to go away and loose weight or being asked to hold dresses up in front of you, this will never happen at The Bridal Suite. Our belief is that all brides should expect the same choice and have the same wonderful fun experience choosing their wedding dress regardless of their size.
Curvy brides travel from far and wide to visit our plus size bridal shop because the whole shop is dedicated to plus size wedding dresses. Finding a wedding dress is not easy and it’s made even more challenging if you have are a bride with big boobs or tummy. We welcome plus size brides from London, Surrey, Dorset, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, West Sussex and Berkshire to our Specialist Shop. Luckily we are conveniently located just off the M27 between Portsmouth and Southampton. I am always so pleased with the feed back that the journey was worthwhile, to have such a good selection of samples that fit and that the gowns are all gorgeous!
We try and keep a variety of styles all between size 18 and size 36 and above this size gowns will be made to measure for you. Our dresses are no more expensive than the smaller standard sizes you will find everywhere else. I know from being a bride myself that budget is a factor in many cases, so the dresses I choose are all priced between £1300 and £1700. The majority are £1600 due to the added structure and exquisite lace detail that I can not resist adding on.
I love helping plus size ladies choose a wedding dress because I know that the right style will enhance and flatter their body shape and most importantly make the bride feel Amazing!! Its a very rewarding job that I feel very passionate about.
Designing my own collection now means I can offer exactly what my brides ask for with out having to compromise or be limited to what wholesalers have on offer! I can’t tell you the difference this has made to my sales! Finally I have unlimited wedding dresses with sleeves, covered backs, lace edged hemlines and structure for support!!
